Matthew Norman
Matt was born and raised in The State of Hockey (Minnesota) and grew up skating at the neighborhood outdoor rink and on his buddy’s frozen pond. When the ice thawed, the neighborhood kids were always playing hockey in some form, whether in the street, a barn, a basement or on a gaming console. Matt developed a love for the game from an early age.
Matt spent over 10 years working at Best Buy as an accountant and a lawyer, before taking a role at Amazon Prime Video and re-locating to Washington State in 2011. He’s held numerous roles at Amazon over the past decade and currently serves as director of fleet electrification and new technology development for Amazon’s Last Mile logistics organization.
Matt has been a volunteer in the Sno-King Amateur Hockey Association for many years, coaching teams across a wide range of ages and skill levels. In recent years, he has focused on helping to develop and grow the girls’ hockey program. In addition to coaching, Matt also plays forward for multiple teams in the Sno-King Adult Hockey League -- go Silverblades and Murder Hornets!
As a civilian, Matt has always admired the U.S. military and is inspired by the opportunity to utilize the great game of hockey to positively impact the lives of active, reserve, retired and veterans of the U.S. armed services.
Matt lives in Issaquah with his wife and two hockey-playing children, and spends a disproportionate amount of the family budget on living the hockey life.
